The Eagle Ridge investment process has evolved over the past 30 years from basic Graham and Dodd fundamental analysis to a much more robust process which incorporates aspects of behavioral economics and macroeconomic influences. The science of investment management is captured in the analysis and portfolio management and risk control disciplines, but the art of investment management, developed over time through experience and observation, is captured in knowing when the process needs to be reexamined, enhanced or modified. Common sense and humility serve investors well since no one rigid system or way of investing will work forever. However, we believe that discipline, common sense, confidence and consistency are required for a successful investor to endure. Eagle Ridge Investment Management’s process has served investors well because it is based on those qualities, has no automatic rules, and seeks to use time and patience to our advantage.
